Platform #12 - "Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, We Welcome You ..."

February 20, 2003 — Plado Media presented another jam-packed, stellar art and fashion show in the latest Platform #12 - "Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, We Welcome You ...". This month, the show was held in the same location as the last two shows at 25 Lusk in San Francisco. Platform is ever more popular within the art and party goer community of the bay area. Platform seems to have outgrown its current location and will need a much larger location for its next show. Next month, Platform celebrates its one year anniversary and promises to be the biggest event so far.

This month's Platform featured a circus/freak show theme. Michael Kerbow presented several outstanding freak show poster art. Of his collection, the "Frog Boy" and the "Elephant Man" seemed quite popular by many of the attendants. Chen-ju Pan presented three of her body armor sculptures. And the underground fashion collective from Oakland, Oaktown Stitchdown, showcased designs by ten of its designers.

"Platform is a community-conscious collaboration of artisans and art-lovers whose ultimate goal is to showcase new and exciting talent, while providing a supportive and social atmosphere. Each platform embraces unique and innovative work from art's multi-layered mediums, and is dedicated to stimulating emotion, conversation, inspiration and thought. As platform grows, so does the community responsible for its success."
